Currently studying with Suren Bagratuni at Michigan State University, Callum is a teaching assistant at MSU and principal cellist of the MSU Symphony Orchestra. Prior to this he completed his Masters degree at the University of Waikato, New Zealand, studying with James Tennant. He has taken part in masterclasses with Gautier Capucon, Alexander Ivashkin, Laurence Lesser, Leslie Parnas, and Thorlief Thedeen.

Callum has won many awards including the NZ String Player Award at the 2007 Gisborne International Music Competition and the 2006 University of Waikato Creative and Performing Arts Person of the Year award.

He was the principal cellist of the NZ National Youth Orchestra in 2006, and has performed as a concerto soloist with the Opus Chamber Orchestra and the Auckland Symphony Orchestra.
